Humans of FS Team Delft

This week we have our Technical & Financial manager Rogier Colijn!

“I finished my bachelor in Aerospace Engineering last year, and I figured this was the perfect time to take a year to gather experience in a practical way. I felt like I missed the applied part of my study a bit, so joining a dreamteam offered a great opportunity to fill in that gap. I had friends working at Formula Student Team Delft who were very enthusiastic about the team, so the choice was quite easy. Apart from the team I enjoy playing tennis and hanging out with my flatmates, however I don’t have a lot of time left to do those things. Something else I enjoy, and have become quite known for within the team, is solving Rubik’s cubes. At age 12 I wondered how the Rubik’s cube worked and subsequently spent my entire summer holiday on it, and after that it got somewhat out of hand. So far I am pleasantly surprised with working at the team, there is a really positive vibe and I get to do lots of tasks that I normally wouldn’t get the chance for. I particularly enjoy the contact with our sponsors, with many of them trying to support us as much as possible. Getting that positive feedback from outside of the team really makes a difference. There’s still plenty of things to happen this year, amongst others I still look forward to seeing the fully produced chassis, executing the first test day and having the car’s final livery applied. Lastly I am excited for the competitions of course, and what they will bring us and the other Formula Student teams.”
