FSG Update #1

August 8, 2017

The moment we’ve been looking forward to all year is upon us; the Formula Student Germany competition! With numerous cars we left Delft at 7 in the morning. A bit after noon most cars arrived. We immediately set up all tents including a big army tent where we have meetings and eat breakfast.

Next up was preparing the pits. Every team has their own pits where they can work on their car. This is also the place where judges or sponsors may stop by to ask questions. Around the pits at the paddock there are also many sponsor companies that provide interesting lectures and goodies.

To conclude the day there was a team welcome organised by FSG. Here, the reigning Electric Vehicle and Combustion Vehicle champions returned the cups. Furthermore we heard what the rest of the week will look like.

Tomorrow will be the first day of scrutineering, this means that every vehicle will be checked for compliance with the rules and safety. This ranges from tilt and rain tests on the car to inspection of the electrical system of the car.

For now we’re up to a good start!
